Nesting. With my first 2 pregnancies, I thought that this concept just meant that the hormonal pregnant lady was trying to clean up a little bit around the house. I spent a lot of time getting Jane Bradley's nursery just right, but I didn't really consider that nesting so much as shop-a-holic meets extreme boredom.
Poor Beckham didn't get much preparation at all. I put up the baby bed in his room, borrowed some bedding and stuck a few hodge-podge pieces of furniture in there. There were a few boy-room ideas floating around in my head, but they never came in for a landing... Actually, his nursery was never finished for some reason.
Luckily, this last time, the nesting "need" was triple strength. The problem was, I hadn't planned to do a nursery because I didn't know the sex of the baby, and I didn't want to do green or yellow. I cleaned (although there is currently not a square inch of evidence), and I planned, and I made lists, and I lost them (because of my severe case of pregnant brain) and I made new lists. Still, it didn't satisfy the OVERWHELMING need to complete every project that had ever been started or even thought about before the pregnancy. I feared that I would never have a moment to work on anything again, and i needed it all to be done... now.
Well, since I couldn't make a nursery, I redid everyone else's room! Jane Bradley was moving upstairs, and Beckham was moving into a big bed. I bought beds, mattresses, bedding, and redid some of my own furniture. Sure did help with the nesting bug! Here are some pics:
